1. The foods at the buffet that were supposed to be served hot, were barely warm. I pointed that out to a couple of staff in the uniform. 2. It took a long time to the front desk to rebook our room. As a result, we had to pack our bags and check out. We were given the same room later that day. Just checking out and checking back in the same room was a big hassle for us.

I booked during the busiest Hajj season, so, taking that into consideration, I paid 3-4 times what it would normally cost. I appreciated the proximity, but at this price range, one can get better quality. I booked very last minute, so I understand the price. Originally, the room provided had an incorrect bed count. The bathroom was also filthy, with mold and mildew. I also have video proof if someone is interested in reaching out to me. The air conditioning was not working properly. After multiple attempts at repairing it, they changed my room. Initially, they gave me a better room. Upon spending the night, I realized the same problem. It took five attempts to fix the A/C. As for the bathroom, I just gave up. I mean, I only stayed in the room for resting; otherwise, I spent my time in the Haram. And customer service is horrendous. They need to do a sensitivity training for the staff. Im a paying guest, of the hotel and for hajj. One should not be spoken to in that manner.

We had a good stay at the Swissotel Maqam. Our check-in was made specially welcome by Hayaa Al-Mudhafa. She was courteous, warm and helpful. We had booked a triple room which was comfortable.
